Topographic Map

Above is an example of a topographic map. It is a topographic map because it shows the shape of terrestrial terrain. It shows the relief and shape of the land from above through the use of contour lines. The closer they are together, the more extreme there is in the change of height, like a cliff, while if there is distance between the lines, the change is more gradual.
